About The Author:

Dr. O'Reilly is a Research Fellow in the Dementia Collaborative Research Centre: Carers & Consumers at Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia. She is an occupational therapist with nearly 30 years' experience as a clinician, educator and researcher. Her passion is aged care, in particular care of people with dementia and she has worked clinically in both residential and community settings. Maria has a Master's Degree in occupational therapy research as well as a PhD. Her research has primarily focused on residential care issues, care of people with dementia, care quality, rural health, and clinical teaching. Her current research is focusing on respite care, quality of life, meaningful occupation, and air travel for people with dementia.
